Vacation on the Poenenhof – that is more than just exchanging the traffic noise of the city for the rustle of old trees and the bleating of small goats. Everyone will get their money’s worth on our adventure farm: our beautiful vacation apartments and our almost 120-year-old farm are made for letting your soul dangle. At the same time, the farm, the barns, the pastures and the animal enclosure invite you to discover. The Poenenhof has been owned by the Derksen family since 1906, meanwhile we are running it in the 4th generation! Today, we no longer farm – instead, we are wholehearted hosts and do everything we can to make our visitors feel at home. Because as parents we know: Where the kids are happy, the adults also find peace. Our animals as well as the countless indoor and outdoor adventure possibilities ensure that no boredom arises with the offspring. And the big ones? Enjoying the country life.

Our adventure farm is located on the outskirts of Uedem in the district of Kleve between the Rheinaue and Maasduin. Here you will find peace and adventure at the same time – as a family, as a school class or in a group with like-minded people.
Indoor
Bad weather? We don’t have that! Neither do bad moods. Because even in the rain you can experience a lot with us at the Poenenhof. We have transformed our straw hall into a huge play barn: Here, an indoor playground with slide, Tarzan rope, trampoline, foosball and ping-pong table await you. Also, mysterious caves with creepy passages made of hay bales. A sandbox and an area with giant building blocks give little castle builders and architects plenty to do indoors even when it’s raining. And in our soccer hall you can let off steam with indoor soccer.
Outdoor
With us on the farm you can discover and experience a lot outside. On the football field, on the beach volleyball court, in the climbing house or on the playground you can romp around to your heart’s content and let off steam. In addition, a whole fleet of kettcars and pedal tractors is waiting for your use, with which you can race around the yard. And then, of course, there are our animals: Pony Paco and the donkey ladies Loreen and Rosi love to be petted and fed. And our lively herd of goats and a whole stable full of fluffy rabbits are always happy to welcome small and large guests.
Our team
The Poenenhof team is led by Marco Derksen, who grew up here on this farm. A host with heart and soul, he will gladly let you explore the place that has been home to the Derksen family for generations. You will also meet his daughter on the farm from time to time: Whenever her time permits, she lends a hand and looks after the well-being of the guests.
If you have questions about bookings or are looking for information about your stay at the Poenenhof, you will most likely end up with your questions to Nadja Weirich: She holds the fort in the office and is at your side with information of all kinds.
So that it is always nice and clean at the Poenenhof, our hardworking cleaning team puts in the work for you every day. And your physical well-being is taken care of by our great cook, who provides the groups with food and drink in the main season.
